Los Chilcos Orchard

On the shores of Lake Ranco, Huerto Los Chilcos cultivates food using a bio-intensive system that maximizes productivity in small spaces while regenerating soil health.

This method utilizes close planting, crop rotation, and composting to create a balanced ecosystem where plants grow strong and nutritious without the need for agrochemicals. Its raised, deep beds allow for the development of healthy roots and promote microbial diversity in the soil.

The project complements its vegetable production with an artisanal fish farm of trout raised without antibiotics, where the water circulates by gravity in a clean and contained system that respects the natural cycle.

As part of the Los Chilcos Estate, this orchard not only produces high-quality nutritional food, but also preserves rural traditions and offers a direct connection between those who cultivate the land with dedication and those who enjoy its fruits at the table.
