Winter, time to rest 🌦️

In Vecinos, the winter solstice holds great significance. It not only marks the beginning of longer days and shorter nights, but also honors the ancestral wisdom of the Mapuche people, who for millennia have celebrated this day as the rebirth of the earth and the start of a new cycle.

In our search for connection with the land, the territory and its inhabitants , our perspective as "migrants" takes on special relevance.

We are observers of life on Earth, which is in constant motion and adaptation. There are no owners of a territory , only wisdom accumulated within it.

From this perspective, we declare ourselves admirers of the Mapuche worldview. Their connection with the earth and the stars has allowed them to understand, long before Western science confirmed it, that this day is a celebration of the Earth's new year .

It is a time of cessation of crops, of rest for the soil, and of repose for the soul and body after work.

It's time to prepare for a winter that will provide the accumulated energy for the next season.

We send a happy We Tripantu to the entire neighborhood!

May this celebration remind us of the collective memory and ancestral heritage that resides in the lands we tread daily.

We humbly embrace this knowledge, seeking to protect it in a fast-paced world that, in its eagerness for connection , sometimes only disconnects us.

Invierno, hora del descanso 🌦️
