Rodrigo, a civil engineer specializing in Biotechnology, founded Fungi Fábrica in 2021 with a clear vision: to transform the mushroom market by moving away from the industrial model that uses disposable plastics and wastes up to 30% of the food produced.
Specializing in exotic edible and medicinal mushrooms such as oyster, king, shiitake and lion's mane, their proposal goes beyond cultivation: they democratize technology to generate growth that impacts local economies.
With reusable planters, bulk sales and cooperative work, they dream of creating products together that will allow them to go out into the world.
To date, they have trained over 500 people across Chile, advising small farmers on how to develop their own production units. They don't just cultivate mushrooms: they cultivate knowledge and food sovereignty.
